Macon Little Kids Theatre

Macon Little Theatre is proud to partner with The Academy of the Performing Arts to produce two amazing productions for children interested in acting per theatrical season.  Under the direction of Academy director, Sylvia Haynie, students have a unique experience of rehearsing and performing on a stage for live audiences.  Our holiday production rehearses along side our December musical, and culminates in a weekend of performances in front of live audiences.

The second MLT Kids production is our summer camp program.  Our junior kids camp is a one week production which has availability for students age 5-12, and culminates in one performance for family and friends.  Our Summer Production camp is a two week rehearsal process for students age 9 to 19, and concludes with a weekend of performances on our stage.

FAQ

My student turns 5 in July, can they still register?

Unfortunately, No.  Students must be the minimum camp age as of the first day of camp to participate.

Can I attend morning camp in week 1 and production camp in week 2?

No.  Morning camp is a totally separate experience and will not be rehearsing the material for production camp.

Does the morning camp perform Descendants?

No.  Morning camp is a learning experience for our younger actors to prepare them for skills needed in future performances.  However, these students do have a performance showcase at the end of the first week of camp!

How much is camp?

The Morning Camp for ages 5-12 is $115 (which includes a t-shirt).  The Production camp for ages 9-19 is $165 (which includes a t-shirt).

What are your safety protocols for Morning Camp?

For the safety of our staff and students, and to stay in line with AEA recommendations for a COVID-safe acting workplace, all young actors will wear masks for all rehearsals and the performance inside the theatre.  However, we do not require proof of vaccination for morning camp students.

What are your safety protocols for Main Camp?

Because the Main Camp present a full scale production on stage at MLT, all actors must follow the same safety rules we use for our adult productions.  Masks will be worn at all rehearsals inside the building, and all actors must show proof of an FDA approved COVID vaccination at time of registration.  These safety guidelines are in line with AEA recommendations for a COVID-safe acting workplace.
